Comments: | First collected by the Nova Scotia Mineral and Gem Society and visitors from Ontario. It is localized to a brecciated rock along the northeastern end of the pit. Not reported from the rest of the mine. Associated with adularia, chlorite, quartz, bertrandite, and other minerals. Rarely found on or included in quartz. Some palm sized pieces contained hundreds of crystals. | |
Habit: | Most commonly as bipyramids to about 2mm. Also as flattened tabular crystals and plates. Small numbers of tiny rosettes ("anatase roses"). | |
Colour: | Black, rarely inky blue. | |
