Comments:"The sapphirine crystals are mostly pseudo-hexagonal tabulae up to 2.0 x 2.5 cms, which are found aligned with the gneissic fabric of the matrix. Crystal margins are commonly altered to a fine intergrowth of corundum, tourmaline, and magnetite, and surround a deep blue-black vitreous core of sapphirine."
