specimen has been Raman confirmed with proper references and was EDS analysed. Other material that was a mixture of lazaridisite and gunningite has been pxrd confirmed.

Hi Joy, could you add a reference here for Raman data for lazaridisite... I didn't see it in the original Min Mag paper or on the RRUFF database.

Dear Frank, there is a reference spectrum in this book:

Vibrational (Infrared and Raman) Spectra of Minerals and Related Compounds
Authors: Chukanov, Nikita V., Vigasina, Marina
DOI: 10.1007/978-3-030-26803-9

There is also an old publication from 1955:
RAMAN SPECTRUM OF CRYSTALLINE
CADMIUM SULPHATE
BY T. S. KRISHNAN AND P. S. NARAYANAN
that can be viewed here:
The Raman spectrum is on the last page.

In the caption of one image there should be reference data for the Raman transitions of this mineral. The strong Raman transitions give a good match. I did also PXRD before, but this was a superposition of gunningite and lazaridisite with many Bragg peaks.

thanks Joy.
