Improving Mindat.orgUpdate on list of minerals from the Bou Azzer district
6th Dec 2007 10:45 UTCGeorges Favreau Manager
Just a few words to help keep the mineral list from Bou Azzer updated:
1 - pyroaurite was analyzed (XRD, Paolo Orlandi, Pisa) and is no longer questionable (we still have not confirmed sjögrenite)
2 - it is possible to add a new mineral: smithsonite from Taghouni. The specimens were tested using HCl. Not a big deal, but new for the place.
3 - we did not find arthurite in Khder, this was cobaltarthurite ("arthurite" can be removed from list)
4 - bendadaite was found in Oumlil East (analyses by A. Kampf. Not published yet, Uwe knows).
5 - the picture 134852 is a vanadinite on barite certainly from Mibladen. Vanadinite should be removed from the list, as it was introduced due to this sole picture.
I hope this helps.
Georges.
