Nov 2013Re: Dosso Valley, Sarentine Alps, Bolzano Province, Trentino-Alto Adige, ItalyReply from Franz Kahlig in Localities.
Ok, thanks. I did not know of this rule. After all, it cost me a lot of time to find this location in the database because I had no knowledge of the Italian name. And - funny as it is - Egg (or, Eck) has nothing to do with eggs :-) In any case I'm glad having started this discussion instead of ...
Nov 2013Dosso Valley, Sarentine Alps, Bolzano Province, Trentino-Alto Adige, ItalyPosted by Franz Kahlig in Localities.
The German name in the locality identification should be corrected to "Egger Valley" (or "Eggertal" for the complete German name) instead of "Egg Valley".

Jun 2011Re: Leoben lodge, Polster Mt., Eisenerz, Styria, AustriaReply from Franz Kahlig in Localities.
Thank you for the clarification of Mindat's practice regarding the naming of localities. Because the locality I am planning to add is on the Eisenerz side anyway there's no problem with it. After thinking it over even purists will appreciate the current arrangement as it helps to keep Pandora's ...
Jun 2011Leoben lodge, Polster Mt., Eisenerz, Styria, AustriaPosted by Franz Kahlig in Localities.
The assignment of this location to the city of Eisenerz ist not correct. In fact this side of Polster Mt. belongs to the village of Vordernberg. Please refer to the attached map cutout. The course of the municipal border is from Präbichl pass (pt 1232) to the Polster summit (pt 1910) and ...
