About Stromatolite
Laminated benthic microbial deposits which can contain abiogenic precipitates and b intimately inter-layered with them. Many Phanerozoic and Neoproterozoic stromatolites are probably essentially lithified microbial mats, older examples probably contain at least some precipitated abiogenic crust.
Microbial carbonate internal fabric is laminated and thinly layered.
Macrofabric = microbial carbonate internal fabric.
See also thrombolite.
