I introduce myself ..

I was born in 1969 in the northwest of Italy, in a region called Piedmont, where I live still.

I work in the Information Tecnology sector and my favourite interest, in my freetime, is search, study, and collect minerals (preferably micro-minerals).

My interests and curiosity about mineralogy, geology, petrology and, more broadly, in the various branches of natural science have appeared since I was a child, thanks to the complicity of my parents.

However, to revitalize the spark inside me and give rise to a real burning hobby I have to wait until 1994 when visiting the exhibition of minerals of Turin (Mineralexpo).
There I met the A.P.M.P. (Piedmont Association of Mineralogy and Paleontology) and immediately I've joined them.
Since that time, the first mineralogical excursions, the first findings, knowledge of several friends, visiting more and more mineralogical exhibitions.
In the same period the decision to abandon the idea of a collection of macro specimens then starting my collection of micro minerals.

In 1995 I entered in the register of researchers and collectors of minerals of the Piedmont region.

In 1996 my first exchange exhibitions, first in my area, then Cremona, Prato, Bologna.. and many other minor.

In 1997 I entered in the Group Mineralogic of Volpiano (located in a zone of the Piedmont called Canavese).

In 1999, with a handful of friends, I attended the first draft of the project Traversella. The first contacts with the mayor, the first cleaning, the first reorganization of the site, the first research of the various entrances, prospecting and ventilation shafts, the first samples for the museum. All that led to the current GMV (Group Mineralogical Valchiusella), which organizes visits to the museum and small excursions in the mine accompanied by valid volunteers.

Will continue..
