The Baker Egg Ranch is one of New Mexico's best known agate localities. This specimen features banded agate in shades of red, orange, black, and maroon that have infilled lithophysae. The center-most section is filled with macrocrystalline quartz that appears faintly amethystine. The front is cut and polished, while the back reveals the natural form of the lithophysae. These specimens are faintly fluorescent under shortwave light.
