Fluorite on Quartz

A large gemmy green Fluorite measuring 27 x 26 mm is perfectly placed atop clear, glassy points of Quartz to 4 mm on this matrix specimen. This modified cube of Fluorite is highly lustrous, and is so transparent the matrix beneath can be clearly seen. It picks up the surrounding light and glows from within. The green color is rich and top notch for this find. The photos can't capture how nice this piece looks in person. These Fluorites were reportedly recovered in 2013 during construction of a 13 km tunnel near Youxi for the Xiangtang–Putian high-speed railway, and good quality pieces are expensive, even in China. I was able to hand pick a few pieces with no damage, and this specimen is perfect.Fluorescent bright purple in SW.
