3.5 x 2.1 x 1.6 cm. Lazulite is a rare magnesium aluminum phosphate, and some of the finest and best known specimens of this material come from this locality. The area around Rapid Creek is only accessible for a few months in the summer for collecting (it's under snow and ice the rest of the year), and is some of the most treacherous terrain in the world for collecting specimens. This specimen is a wonderful piece featuring sharp, very lustrous, very well formed, monoclinic, deep inky blue crystals of lazulite measuring up to 1.1 cm associated with notably lustrous, sharp, gemmy brown siderite with minor quartz on matrix.
