“3.5 x 2.3 x 1.3 cm. A gem quality, soft steel-blue color "fishtail"-shaped crystal of baryte is aesthetically set atop translucent, pearly, white-to-colorless calcite matrix. The baryte measures 1.5 cm long. The piece was found near Little Fountain Creek in El Paso County, Colorado. This creek is just east of I-25 on the southern end of Colorado Springs. This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here (http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528). The piece comes with a typed collection label from Wulff that states he personally collected the piece.
