Stream gradient approximately 200 feet per mile.
Location: This prospect is at an elevation of about 700 feet on Sugar Loaf Creek, approximately 1.5 miles above its mouth. The map site is in section 21, T. 4 N., R. 12 W., of the Kateel River Meridian. Cobb, 1972 (MF-389), location 24.
Geology: Stream and bench gravels at this site have been prospected or mined for gold. Concentrate samples collected from the gravels contained thorium minerals (Gault and others, 1953).
Workings: In 1945 the U.S. Geological Survey sampled the stream sediments to evaluate their radioactive mineral content (Gault and others, 1953).
Age: Quaternary.
