The locality is in the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park and Preserve.
Location: This occurrence is on the west valley wall of an unnamed north tributary to Canyon Creek. It is at an elevation of about 5,200 feet, about 2,600 feet north-northwest of the center of section 34, T. 6 S., R. 18 E. of the Copper River Meridian. This is locality 45 of MacKevett (1976); the location is accurate to within about 1,000 feet.
Geology: This occurrence consists of irregular altered zones in upper Paleozoic volcaniclastic rocks (MacKevett and Smith, 1968; MacKevett, 1976). A sample of the altered rock contained 5.2 parts per million gold.
Workings: Limited surface sampling.
Age: Upper Paleozoic or younger based on the age of the host rocks.
