Campana and King (1958) describe a fluorite deposit, consisting of a massive fluorite vein in schist, and located 150 yards south of the Plumbago Woolshed. The workable fluorite vein extended for 40 feet, with an average width of 2-3 feet. Shortly after Campana and King's report, the deposit was worked by M. von Berg to supply an Adelaide client.
Jim Johnson's article on minerals of the Olary Province in the December 1957 issue of Australian Mineralogist mentions the deposit: "we wandered on to a small quarry in coarse, crystalline deep purple fluorite, operated by pioneer prospector "Pop" von Berg, who is the caretaker at the Crocker Well uranium field. Pop, very generously gave us some fluorite and received in return a fine cabochon cut moss agate from Dennis Walter."

Note by Ben Grguric: When visited in 1992, the fluorite deposit had been extensively worked. Fragments of remaining fluorite were very deep purple, to almost opaque black. Minor chalcopyrite blebs and secondary malachite were locally present, associated with fluorite.
