Outweathered small, staurolite crystals may be seen on the ground near Høgfjellet, both outside and inside the Skarvan and Roltdalen National Park. The staurolite-kyanite-bearing rock is connected culturally to many small Mill stone quarries. The area with the Mill stone quarries, is located inside the border of the National park, and is protected as both a cultural and natural history area. NB: Here all collecting, even of small pebbles, is strictly forbidden in this area (Forskrift om vern av Skarvan og Roltdalen, 20.febr 2004, § 1.2.1).

Coordinates are for the summit of Mt. Høgfjellet (inside the National Park).
