A stone deposit/mine (?) located in the SE¼ sec. 34, T3N, R13E, MDM, in the SE portion of Angels Camp (on eastern city limit line), E of highway 49. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.
NOTE: USGS MRDS file #10284243 states that the workings were unspecified surface openings. This locality is probably synonymous with Mindat file for the Tryon Mining Company Mine, stated to be in sec. 3, T2N, R13E (adjacent section to the S).
Mineralization is a deposit of fresh, massive, slabby greenstone. Local rocks include undivided pre-Cenozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
Rock was mined on the 200 foot level. It was crushed, screened and sized.
