The Hlubina mine in Ostrava was a deep coal mine founded in 1852 by Salomon Mayer Rothschild (1774–1855) in close proximity to the blast furnaces of the Vítkovice Ironworks. After the end of the operation, the complex with facilities and technical equipment of the Hlubina Mine with the coke plant and blast furnaces of the Vítkovice Ironworks was declared a national cultural monument of the Czech Republic in 2002 for its exceptional monumental value.
