Detailed Mineral List:
ⓘ 'Feldspar Group' |
ⓘ Haüyne Formula: Na3Ca(Si3Al3)O12(SO4) Description: Local mineral collectors from Tahiti Island, and French
geologists who travelled to area, report that
there is no way to find any haüyne on the Taiarapu beach at Teahupoo on
the West coast of the Taiarupu volcano and more generally, no way to find haüyne on Taiarapu West.
The confusion comes from the name of the beach near Teahupoo, Taiarapu beach which is the same as the whole presqu’île.
All finds and samples come from the East coast of the Taiarupu volcano, in
several valleys between Tautira and Pueu and also on the beach of Tautira.
