A former surface and underground Mn mine located in the North-central sec. 2, T5S, R17W (protracted), on federal land. Owned by Strugess.

Mineralization is numerous, lenticular, pockety, and narrow pyrolusite stringers with calcite, in shattered Cretaceous or Tertiary andesitic volcanics along a shear zone.

Workings included a shallow shaft and open cuts. Small lots of picked 30% Mn ore were shipped in the 1950's.
