A former Hg mine located in secs. 28 & 29, T14N, R5W, MDM, 0.8 km (2,600 feet) S of Wilbur Springs, adjoining the Manzanita Mine on the N (Located on central shaft, N and S sides of Sulphur Creek.). Discovered in 1873. Production occurred in 1873, 1875, 1890 & 1926. Owned by J. W. Cuthbert (Estate). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is a Hg deposit on a serpentine-shale contact, and is hosted in serpentinite. The ore body is 9.14 meters thick, with a depth-to-bottom of 15.24 meters. Alteration is local and involves the silicification of serpentine. Controls for ore emplacement included the brecciation and alteration of serpentine. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 2 (Coast Ranges).

Workings included unspecified surface and underground openings. Workings are now caved. There were several hundred feet of workings, including the central shaft.
