Clark placer, Latrobe, Latrobe District, El Dorado Co., California, USA

A former placer Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 30, T8N, R10E, MDM, about 7.3 km SE of Latrobe, on the N side of the Cosumnes River, on private land. Property contained 160 acres. Operated by Mrs. L. M. Clark, Paul H. Clark, et al. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Locality extends S into Amador County in SW¼ of the section.

Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).

RD file says placer mining tailings and excavation in parts of sec. 30 will neccesitate a great deal of leveling.
