A former placer Au occurrence/drift mine located in the W½NE¼ sec. 15, T10N, R11E, MDM, 1.5 km (0.9 mile) E of Texas Hill (coordinates of record) (S of E end of the hill/airport), about 2 miles ESE of Placerville center. The claim contained 54 acres (according to Logan (1938), Pl. II shows 40 acres). Operated circa 1896. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Local rocks include Tertiary nonmarine rocks, undivided.

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 1,500 foot bedrock adit and a 213 foot shaft.
