A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in secs. 13 & 24, T28S, R34E, MDM, 4.1 km (2.5 miles) NNE of Keyesville, along the S canyon wall of French Gulch. The property is comprised of 100 acres. Owned by the Piute Consolidated Mining Company. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. The USGS MRDS database file states that this mine lies within the "Valley View Mining District" which is an obscure entity at best and may be a specious construct.

Mineralization is hosted in granite and porphyry. The ore body strikes NE and dips 45S at a thickness of 0.61 meter. The vein is 2 feet thick with a pay shoot 150 feet long. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings at the site include surface & underground openings with a length of 91.44 meters and comprised of a crosscut that intersects the ore 150 feet from its portal, plus short drifts and open cuts.
