A former Hg mine located in the SE¼NW¼ sec. 28, T23S, R16E, MDM, 2.8 km (1.8 miles) ESE of Table Mountain, on patented land. Discovered in 1918. Operated by Jack Ellena Fortini and Thompson (1962). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters.

Mineralization is a landslide deposit of serpentine and black silica-carbonate rock. Cinnabar, with some metacinnabar, forms crusts and fills fractures in the silica-carbonate rock and occurs as well in the earthy gouge of the landslide. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 3 (Coast Ranges and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of a shallow glory hole and several hundred feet of workings beneath an open pit.

Production information: First recorded production was in 1918. From 1918-1922 there were 1,030 flasks of Hg produced. Three flasks Hg were produced in 1957 and 14 flasks were produced in 1958.

Results of an investigation during WWII indicate that unless other large bodies of ore are discovered nearby in the landslide, no further production can be anticipated. Some activity was reported for 1935.
