A Cr occurrence located in the NE¼ sec. 21, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 2.2 km ESE of Newtown, NW of Grass Valley. Discovered in 1918. Owned by H.B. Skewes. Operated by A.A. Codd. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface openings comprised of a number of open cuts and pits.
production information: About 71 long tons of ore containing approximately 15% Cr2O3 was mined but no shipments were made.
