A placer Au occurrence located in the NE¼ sec. 35, T13N, R9E, MDM, about 4 km E of Grizzly Bear House, N & W of the Middle Fork American River at Poverty Bar (1½ miles S of Butcher Ranch). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include surface dredging operations. During the period 1915-1916 this deposit was being worked with a 79-bucket dredge with 3 shirts of 4 men each.
