A former placer Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 28, T7N, R5E, SBM, 4.7 km (3.0 miles) NW of the Rodman Mountains high point (summit) and about 26 km S of Newberry Springs, along the southern margin of the Rodman Mountains, on Bureau of Land Management administered land. Owned by the Flying M Association, Don, Ruth, and Merle Mulligan, California (1984). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
