A Au prospect located in the NW¼SW¼NW¼ sec. 15, T10N, R1W, SBM, 3.0 km (1.9 miles) NE of the Mitchel Range (coordinates of record), on the eastern margin of the range's foothills (3.7 miles NW of Lead Mountain). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Tucker & Sampson described the Desert King Mine in sec. 16, T10N, R1W at an elevation of 2,600 feet. The workings in sec. 15 are considered par tof this property due to the proximity of their location. Section 16 was not visited during the 1993 USGS field study.

Mineralization is hosted in Neoproterozoic gneiss. The ore body strikes NE and dips 40NW at a thickness of 182.88 meters. The mineralized zone is 600 feet thick and covers 640 acres. Local rocks include Tertiary intrusive rocks (hypabyssal), unit 7 (Northern Mojave Desert).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of a number of shallow trenches. Ten are from 100 to 400 feet long and 2 feet deep. Open cuts present as well.
