A former Au occurrence/mine located in the E½ sec. 2, T10N, R17E, SBM, 9.9 km (6.1 miles) SSE of Hackberry Spring (coordinates of record), along the extreme SE slope of Hackberry Mountain (8 miles NW of Goffs Butte), on federal reservation land (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in gneiss. The deposit consists of minor Fe and Cu staining along a few 1 to 2 feet thick, discontinuous veins. Local rocks include Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of a 45 foot incline and several pits.
