Ehorn group (Ore Basin property; Valley View property), Franklin Point, Coastal Range, Tehama Co., California, USA
A Cr occurrence located in sec. 20 (assumed spot at center of the SW¼ sec. 20), T25N, R7W, MDM, 3.7 km (2.3 miles) SSE of Franklin Point (coordinates of record, along an unnamed tributary of North Fork Elder Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.Mineralization is a Cr deposit hosted in rocks of the Franciscan Formation (serpentinite). The group is located near the N end of the Elder Creek mass, a long fault bounded N-S-trending ultramafic body that is exposed for over an area approximately 120 km by 4 km. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 3 (Coast Ranges and Western Klamath Mountains).
