A Mn occurrence/claim/prospect located in secs. 29 & 30, T1N, R8E, HM, 3.4 km (2.1 miles) ENE of Copper Hill (coordinates of record) and 7.1 km (4.4 miles) NNE of Forest Glen (50 feet N of the road to Limedyke, 150 feet due E of the section marker between secs. 29 & 30), in the headwaters area of North Rattlesnake Creek. Discovered 1941. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in chert. The manganiferous chert is hosted in thin-bedded red chert. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 9 (Western Klamath Mountains) and/or ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings are surface prospect operations.
Analytical data results: Ore grade is less than 10% Mn.
