Lead from
Tubac, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA

Classification
Species:Lead
Formula:Pb
Comments:Occurs replacing plant roots, but natural origin is not confirmed by in situ studies, and there are no reports of a possible natural source for lead in the area. One might speculate that the lead more likely was a byproduct of rustic manufacture of bullets at the small army fort that existed in Tubac in the mid-19th century.
Confirmation
Validity:Unconfirmed/Questioned
