A former underground Ag-Pb-Zn-Au-Cu mine located on the east side of Black Canyon, 3Β½ miles SE of Turkey Creek Station. Discovered 1905. Produced 1911-1968. Owned by D.J. Thompson; and, the Black Canyon Mining Co., Kansas City, MO.

Mineralization is a flat vein in amphibolite schist traceable for 1 mile and dips N.20ΒΊW. at several feet in maximum width. Ore body is tabular. Ore has a quartz gangue. Ore control was faulting and shearing. Concentration was oxidation at near surface.

Area structures include low-angle (less than 40 degrees) veins cut across foliation. Foliation and transposed bedding in metavolcanic rocks trend N-S.

Workings include an 1,800 foot long tunnel that connects with the shaft on the hill 240 feet higher. Some 750 tons of ore shipped.
