PhotosMalachite - Wheal Alfred, Great Wheal Alfred, Hayle, St Erth - Gwithian Area, Cornwall, England, UK

I see the small blob of what appear to be malachite at 7o'clock, but the fine pale green spray near the centre of the image looks very much like mixite or agardite, for which Wheal Alfred is well known

Courtenay,

I agree, it does certainly resemble the minerals you mention.

Looks like mixite/agardite to me too Courtenay

I agree as well. Message sent.

Hi chaps. Thanks for the flag and apologies. Would you prefer I mark it as Agardite & Pyromorphite?

Regards,

Jay.

Use "mixite group" to be on the safe side.

18th Jun 2015 14:39 UTCJay I. G. Roland

Right on, thanks and apologies for the bother.

Regards,

Jay.

It isn't any bother, besides Mixite is a good bit rarer than Malachite so you have a nice specimen there.

Funny thing is, when it was listed as Malachite it was very quickly 'approved', now it has been corrected it lies in limbo.
