How fun, thanks Jesse! I actually knew everyone in those photos...and you can tell Joan that I am watching Top Chef right now and am rooting for Carla, HOOTIE HOO!

( It is marathon Top Chef time, have watched four episodes in a row! )

Hello Gail,

She just informed me that she must stay up late tonight to see the new episode as she can't bear to leave it for next week!

Guess I'll have some time tonight to get to processing the mineral photos from last week.

"good night dick??"

22nd Feb 2009 13:55 UTCGail Spann Manager

Ray, from Rowan and Martin's laugh in show during the late 60s and early 70s. They finished the show with Good night Dick.

Is that anything like "Goodnight, Gracie"??

22nd Feb 2009 19:21 UTCSteve Stuart Expert

What a hoot! They got to say "dick" on TV. Remember Nixon?

22nd Feb 2009 20:00 UTCGail Spann Manager

Do I remember Nixon..oh yeah. He was rather funny on the show and I was amazed a president would do humour.

I think he even said "Sock it to me." Goldie Hawn was adorable and her giggle was infectious.

And who remembers "here comes da judge"?

23rd Feb 2009 16:25 UTCJesse Fisher Expert

Along with Goldie Hawn, it was also where Lilly Tomlin got her start. Remember Ernestine the obnoxious telephone operator? "one ringy-dingy...two rinigy-dingys..."

Not that this has much to do with minerals, mind you...
