A lovely 25mm tall dogtooth calcite crystal, showing the pleasing and distinctively different color that is diagnostic of this locality. Collected in the 90's from a boulder on the floor of immense open pit quarry that is, sadly, no longer open to collecting.

A nice big combination piece, 13x9x10cm, (5" across) note penny for scale. Neither mineral is here achieving their best color, but the combination of the two makes for an interesting specimen.

Beryl Pit, Quadeville area, Lyndoch Township, Brudenell-Lyndoch-and-Raglan, Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada

A particularly fine thumbnail composed of three doubly-terminated crystals of allanite-(Ce). The central crystal is 16 mm long. Collected in 1997.

Very fragile, hence seldom extracted in this quality, found locked in richly-mineralized dark red granite.
