A mineral spring located in the N1/2 NE1/4 sect.22,T.162 N.,R.73 W.,
The Turtle Mts is an oval-shaped upland area 25 miles in width by 40 miles in length extending into the province of Manitoba,Canada. The "mountains" reach an elevation of 2300' and stand 400-700' above the surrounding plains.
The Turtle Mts consist of a core of bedrock of the Fort Union Formation (Paleocene) mantled by a thick covering of glacial debris.
This particular mineral spring was researched in the 1940's, and found to contain, in the general area, a couple of manganese deposits, with reserves of about 16,000 tons.
