A former Hg occurrence/mine located in sec. 28, T11S, R7E, MDM, 0.4 km (0.2 mile) WSW of Mariposa Peak coordinates of record) and 3.2 km (2.0 miles) NNE of Antimony Peak (coordinates of record), at the western foot of the mountain. Worked in the 1870's. Discovered in 1875. Owned by T. H. French. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Idle for many years.

Mineralization is hosted in Pliocene basalt. The ore body strikes N45W and dips NE. Controls for ore emplacement include a shear zone. Local rocks include Tertiary volcanic flow rocks, unit 1 (Quien Sabe-Burdell Mountain).

Local geologic structures include a shear zone.

Workings include underground openings with a length of 106.68 meters and comprised of a 100 meter adit, several short drifts and a raise (the topo map also reflects a shaft symbol).
