A former Hg-Sb mining area located along the crest of the Diablo Range, about 13 miles NE of Hollister, at the intersection of SE Santa Clara County, NE San Benito County and the western edge of Merced County.

Local alteration includes silica carbonate alteration of serpentine. Local rocks include Tertiary volcanic flow rocks, unit 1 (Quien Sabe-Burdell Mountain).

Regional geologic structures include a N-trending anticline and N-trending faults.
