Area is very rugged and partly covered by glaciers. Site is in Lake Clark National Park and Preserve.
Location: Occurrence is on peak 6,805 in the Neacola Mountains, NW corner of the Lake Clark D-1 quadrangle. Corresponds with locality 6 of Nelson and others (1985) and locality 19 of MacKevett and Holloway (1977). Sec. 17, T. 10 N., R. 21 W., of the Seward Meridian. Accurate within 1,200 meters.
Geology: Disseminated quartz veins containing pyrite, azurite, and traces of bornite in medium- to coarse-grained biotite-hornblende granodiorite (Nelson and others, 1983; unit Ti4). The quartz veins locally contain 3,600 ppm Mo and 8,800 ppm Cu.
Workings: Veins locally contain 3,600 ppm Mo and 8,800 ppm Cu (Nelson and others, 1985).
Age: Veins cut Tertiary granodiorite.
