Location: This occurrence is at an elevation of 3,700 feet on the north flank of Paxson Mountain. It is one-tenth of a mile southeast of the Denali Highway, in the NW1/4NE1/4 section 21, T. 21 S., R. 11 E., Fairbanks Meridian. The occurrence corresponds to locality 9 in Rose and Saunders (1965) and to locality S88 in table 2 of Nokleberg and others (1991).
Geology: This occurrence consists of bornite in a half-inch-thick vein (Rose and Saunders, 1965). The vein trends N35E and cuts metabasalt of the Nikolai Greenstone of Late Triassic age (Nokleberg and others, 1991). Several pieces of mineralized float occur downslope from the vein.
Workings: Surface workings include hand-dug prospect pits.
Age: Probably Cretaceous.
Alteration: The vesicular basalt host rock is altered to chlorite and epidote.
