Cluster of pits, shafts and trenches prospecting for copper. Statabound sandstone host rock and mineralization similar to that at the nearby Newgate Mine. Prospecting likely initially took place circa 1705-1741 when Newgate was active. Circa 1831-6 another aborted attempt was made, including starting a drainage tunnel.
