Old workings for quartz variety amethyst

In the documentary references :
1640 - The BARONNE de BEAUSOLEIL indicates an amethyst mine at Pégut.
1779 - LE MONNIER describes the mines in activity located at Pégut and mentions the business with the Genevese.
1788 - LE GRAND D’AUSSY mentions the exploitations in activity at Pégut and the trade with the Spaniards.
1898 - DEMARTY makes a synthesis of the historical data, explains the methods of purchase of amethyst by the Spaniards (with the anecdote of the Spaniards stolen on the road while they are coming to Pégut, in 1780). He mentions the various tests of resumption of workings following the rupture of the trade with the Spaniards, then he exposes its own resumption of workings on the amethyst veins.
