Damtjern naturminne, Nome, Vestfold og Telemark, Norge

An area of 100x 200m in a forest with outcrops of a dikelike east-west going diatreme. The type locality of the rock damtjernite. Xenolith fragments of garnet-spinel iherzolites are observed in the damtjernite.

The locality is protected since 27.nov. 1998 as a geological nature reserve. No collecting is allowed.

The minerals listed below are minerals found as rock forming in the lamprophyric rock called damtjernite. The rock contains phenocrysts of redbrown titanian phlogopite, yellow-brown titanian pargasite, and clinopyroxene.
