A very old, two-level quarry spanning some 200 x 200 meters. It is now part of the Parc national de Plaisance and collecting is prohibited.
Boulders on the top of the quarry have been disposed to form sort of a terrace where people can sit and have lunch.
The following description was taken from the deposit file of the MRNF (Ministère des ressources naturelles et de la faune), i.e. the Dept. of Natural Resources of the Province of Québec :
The bedrock in the area around this quarry consists of impure, brownish-grey to blue-grey dolomite of the Beauharnois Formation of the Beekmantown group. It has been used for the construction of railway culverts in the area.
