East of Centre Road just north of the intersection with Old Nipissing Road, a grown in trail leads northeast to an open area of rock outcrops approximately 250 feet from Centre Road. Three pits sunk in hornblende gneiss are said to be found.
This was part of the land originally patened to the Great Northern Iron and Smelting Company in 1931.
Site was visited on 08/06/2013. Only two of the three pits were documented. A third pit is questionable, and may not have been located while visiting the site.
