Uranium Deposit near "Rodolfo" Mine.

History:
Two kilometers to the west of Cosquín town, includes the deposits: "Rodolfo", "Año Dos Mil", etc... Elevation: 721 metres above sea level.
A sedimentary Eocene succession emerges by more than 30 kilometres at the Punilla Valley, with facies is continental, leaving limited eastward, through failure, antecambrics gneiss, while to the West relies on Granites and diorites of the same age, who accused a high content of uranium (6 to 9 ppm) and they are crossed by abundant pegmatites, some of them also uraniferous.
Within the package of sediments, an sand-clay industry, with a high content of calcium carbonate, from 9 to 12 metres of thickness, includes 3 levels of mineralized with uranium, of which the medium is of greater interest in its continuity. Until 1964, the tank had been studied on a surface extension of 2,000 meters and up to 60 meters deep, making sure that the uraniferous sector had a variable power between 5 and 7 meters and tenor for the same of 0.04% U3O8. An intensive exploratory plan subsequently made by drilling, certified that the mineralization continues - 130 meters, which can define a sector of 1.5 to 2 metres, whose laws vary between 0.1-0.15% U3O8 and uraniferous body is repeated in depth by Quaternarian tectonism effects.
To the North, the site was recognized in less detail on other 4 kilometers, up to 30 meters of depth and showed similar characteristics to the southern sector.
Prospecting radiometric and manometric, as well as also reduced mine workings, allowed to demonstrate the continuity of the mineralization over tens of kilometers. The dominant uraniferous species found were Carnotite and Tyuyamunite, contained in argillocalcareous gangue with contents ranging between 0.014% and 0.10% of U3O8.
Based on the exploratory work was superior to the reserve 11,000 tonnes of U3O8.
The present is one of uraniferous biggest accumulations of Argentina. While the same is low-grade, ore, very friable, can be easily preconcentrated, desliming him, with what his original law rises up to 3 times, reducing its volume 20-37%.
