An aluminum mine in bauxite ore. Owned by Alcoa of Australia (51%) & local interests (49%).
A bauxite mine operated by Alcoa, opened in 1984, and located east of Waroona. Ore is sent to Alcoa's Wagerup refinery. It produces 10 million tonnes of bauxite per annum. The Huntly and Willowdale mines in total produce 45% of Australia's alumina production, and 30% of its aluminium production. The mine produces no specimens.
