This appears to have been a minor operation which ran for only about a year. It was owned by J.J. McDonald and D. Hampton, who were granted the lease (number 570), on February 12 1909. Shortly after it was let out to Jas Alain who only seven months later applied for a three month exemption from mining due to a lack of funds.
The Inspector of Mines in May 1910, states the mine is on a lease of 24 acres. A shaft had been sunk to 70 feet, the reef encountered at the bottom, being 7 feet wide and valued at 8 dwt per tonne. At the 40 foot level the reef was 18 inches wide, valued at 1 ounce per tonne from here to the surface.
It is situated at the southern end of the gold field, between The Vatican Mine and the Crescent Mine, and just west of the Yalgoo to Fields Find Road. It is approximately 5 kilometres south-east of the central Messengers Patch Mine.
