Named after the first major battle in 1881 in the Boer War, where the British were defeated. 10 kilometres north-east of the Golden Eagle processing plant and one kilometre south of the Anne De Vidia prospect. The site contains two parallel mineralised zones striking north-east to south-west. A couple of shaft groups exist from the late 1890's, but only limited information found. A crushing is reported in 1900, and again 1901 by Willis (surname). No other information was found until 1940, when Minister of Mines A.H. Panton arrived to find Bill Lynas working the mine.
To reach travel south on the Ant Hill Road which leaves the Skull Springs Road just before the Five Mile Creek Crossing. After a couple of kilometres a road branches to the south-west, the mines about a further two kilometres. It is near the southern border of the Five Mile Patch area, with a myriad of tracks, bulldozed areas and disturbed ground. Historically described the mines at Majuba Hill were near the summit of a hill. Map approximate only. Explored in recent years by Millennium Minerals.
